Earlier, Ghani, in his speech, noted that the SLU organised by the Nabawan District Office and relevant agencies is part of the government’s continuous effort to ensure holistic, inclusive, and sustainable development for Nabawan District, under RMK-13 for 2026-2030.

Ghani said that RMK-13 will focus on balanced development across the economic, social and environmental aspects, with the main goal of improving the quality of life and ensuring long-term national prosperity.
“Our shared priority is to ensure that Nabawan receives an equitable and balanced development that aligns with both current needs and future potential.
For Nabawan, RMK-13 presents a golden opportunity to identify specific development needs and potentials and create strategies that match the unique challenges and opportunities of this community,” he said.
Regarding the SLU organised by the Nabawan District Office, Ghani highlighted its importance as a platform for exchanging ideas, feedback and proposals.
“The government highly values the views and involvement of all parties, including local leaders, community representatives and the general public, as they are the ones who best understand the needs and aspirations of the people,” he added.
He stressed that the aim is to resolve long-standing issues in the district, particularly about basic infrastructure such as roads, clean water supply, electricity, human capital development, healthcare services, agriculture, livestock, entrepreneurship, and tourism, through collective ideas and shared priorities.
Ghani further expressed hope that the session would produce valuable and practical inputs that would be integrated into the RMK-13 development plan.
However, he also pointed out that the success of the proposals depends on cooperation to ensure that each suggestion is realistic, feasible and beneficial to all segments of society.
He also highlighted that Nabawan has unique potential not found in other areas, with the opportunity to reach international standards, particularly due to its proximity to Indonesia’s North Kalimantan region.
This could significantly contribute to the state and Malaysia’s economy if properly developed, he said.
The two-day SLU event was also attended by Nabawan District Officer, TS Marshal Anthony @ Idham.
