Amid prevailing stereotypes labeling Gen Z as lazy or overly sensitive, 20-year-old Nur Edlynn Zamileen Muhammad Amin—more popularly known as Cik B—is challenging such generalizations with her thriving business and strong financial footing.
Daughter of well-known Malaysian entrepreneur Dato Seri Vida, Cik B recently revealed in a viral street interview that her monthly income exceeds RM500,000. Although she declined to disclose the exact figure, her earnings highlight the success of her entrepreneurial ventures, particularly her long-running online business selling crispy salmon skin snacks and other consumer products.
By the age of 19, she had already purchased her dream vehicle—a Mercedes-Benz G63 Brabus worth RM1.79 million—using her own money, a move that underlines her financial independence and work ethic.
Speaking candidly during the interview, Cik B emphasized the importance of self-motivation. She urged her peers to keep pushing forward, even in tasks they may not enjoy, by identifying and pursuing their true interests. She believes that once individuals find what drives them, their enthusiasm will naturally follow.
Addressing the perception that some in her generation appear unmotivated, Cik B acknowledged that multiple factors could contribute, including mental health concerns. However, she cautioned against attributing laziness solely to such issues. In her view, some may simply be accustomed to a comfortable lifestyle that discourages the need for change, as they are able to get by without much effort.
Her remarks sparked interest not only for her income but also for the values she expressed. Cik B shared that she lives by a set of simple but meaningful principles: treat others with kindness, respect your parents—especially your mother—remain humble, and extend generosity to those in need.
Her comments and achievements have drawn praise and curiosity, especially in a social climate where younger generations often face criticism for perceived shortcomings in drive and ambition. By carving out her own success early in life, Cik B aims to offer a different narrative—one where discipline, passion, and purpose can lead to significant accomplishments.
Her story adds nuance to public conversations about youth today, offering a real-life counterpoint to sweeping generational stereotypes.
