If you don’t make RM15,000 a month, don’t even think about marrying and having a family.

A Malaysian man, Yan Mable, recently shared his take on the Facebook group JB柔佛吹水站 and expressed what he thought about how much you need to start a family based on the economic situation in 2025. To him, everything is unrealistic if you are not financially stable.

“If you don’t make RM15,000 a month, don’t go dating and don’t give the women a hard time. Don’t cause your family members in the future to share the burden with you.”

Yan also said that your mother-in-law will not be fond of you if you don’t have the money, to which the elderly will often keep it to themselves.

“If you don’t have money, you can only bring your children to Klang when their peers are vacationing in Paris.”

Yan shared that if you are not financially capable, there are a lot of things you can’t do with your family in the future, including bringing them to fine dining every weekend.

“Unless you want your children to get used to eating mixed rice every day and not step into the restaurant, then go for it! A responsible man will buy Balenciaga for his children and train them to be rich from a young age.”

He also said that a real man would have a provider mindset and pay for everything in the house, including the loan for his wife’s car. Moreover, a long time ago, RM600 was enough to support a family for a month, but today, RM6,000 is only enough for 1 person.

In addition, he also calculated the monthly expenses for a family of four, which is nearly RM 23,700 to support the whole family!

  • Apartment mortgage and management fee – RM 3,500
  • 2 cars with a monthly loan of RM 2,000
  • Gas for 2 cars – RM 1,000
  • Food expenses for a family of four: RM 3,00
  • Telephone bill for a family of four is RM 500
  • Insurance premium for a family of four is RM 2,000
  • Domestic travel RM 2,000 per month
  • Annual overseas travel RM 4,000
  • Pocket money for father-in-law and mother-in-law RM 1,000
  • Parents’ pocket money RM 1,000
  • Medical expenses RM 500
  • RM 1,500 for two children
  • Personal entertainment expenses RM 200
  • Wife’s facial care RM 1,000
  • Pet expenses RM 500

What do you think of his take on this matter?
