The handing over ceremony was carried out by Chairman Datuk Philip Lasimbang at Datuk Seri Panglima Antenom’s hall, here, last Saturday.

Each secondary and primary school student received RM100 while IPT students received RM500 each.

While speaking at the ceremony, Philip said the financial assistance was an extension of the assistance given to school students previously.

“Since its establishment, it has set its main focus, which is to provide the best educational assistance to every level of society throughout Malaysia regardless of race or religion with the vision of eradicating poverty through education.”

Among YBR’s achievements included being named the best Foundation 2023 in the banking category by CSR Award Malaysia three times in a row.

“YBR also received the Special Category Award in the Bumiputera Business Excellence Award 2023.

“All these achievements would have been difficult to achieve if there was no help and support from outside such as non-profit organisations, government agencies and so on,” he said.

At the same event, Philip also presented calculators to secondary schools.
