PETALING JAYA: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission has not ruled out summoning Putrajaya MP Radzi Jidin to assist in its investigation into the RM80 million J-Qaf book project during his time as education minister.
However, MACC chief Azam Baki did not say when the Bersatu vice-president will be summoned, only saying it “will not be soon”.
“MACC has not ruled out calling in Radzi, but it will not be soon,” Azam told FMT.
Yesterday, MACC arrested two individuals, including the former political secretary to a former minister, on suspicion of soliciting and receiving bribes for a RM80 million project involving a ministry.

Read more An MACC source said the first suspect, in his 20s, is a former political secretary to a former minister, while the second is the owner of a company in his late 50s.
“They are believed to have conspired with the former minister to solicit and receive a bribe, through the second suspect’s company, from a contractor in return for the approval of a book project through direct negotiations,” the source had said.
Yesterday, Radzi released a statement denying that he had approved direct negotiations for the project, and alleged that the arrests by MACC were ordered by the authorities following his statements in the Dewan Rakyat on Tuesday.
Azam, however, said the investigation had been ongoing before the report was made by the Prime Minister’s Department.
“There has been no pressure from any parties. The case had been opened before the department made the report,” he said. - FMT
