A controversial self-development program held last year at the IDCC Convention Centre in Shah Alam is now under police investigation after authorities confirmed the involvement of nude individuals during one of its activities.

The event, known as the eHATI motivational program, took place from September 27 to 30, 2024. Selangor Police, in a press briefing on July 16, stated that the incident occurred on the final day of the event during a segment called “Queens’ Night.” Authorities verified that four individuals, including a facilitator and several participants, took part in activities conducted without clothing. The session in question was titled “Rebirth” and was part of the premium package offered to attendees.

Two pricing tiers were available for those who registered for the program. Package A was priced at approximately RM6,000, while Package B, which included exclusive access to the Queens’ Night ceremony, cost around RM9,000. It was during this special segment that the nudity reportedly took place, raising public concern over the nature and transparency of such self-help events.

During the investigation, law enforcement officials seized a number of items used during the program, including several types of beverages served at the event. These liquids have been submitted to the Chemistry Department for further analysis to determine if any illicit substances were present.

Police revealed that a total of 50 individuals were involved as participants, and as of July 17, statements had been collected from 30 of them. Authorities are in the process of reaching out to the remaining attendees to aid the investigation.

Further findings suggest the event was open to individuals regardless of religious background, with participants from various walks of life. Investigators also discovered that several civil servants had taken part in the program, prompting additional scrutiny over possible breaches of public service conduct.

The revelations have triggered widespread public debate about the oversight and regulation of self-improvement seminars, especially those that involve high fees and unorthodox activities under the guise of personal growth.
