A 40-year-old woman who bullied another driver by driving dangerously on Janal Tebrau, Johor, was arrested after dashcam footage of her actions had gone viral online.
ISU SEMASA VIRAL took to their Twitter page to share the video, which showcases the woman, driving a Toyota Fortuner, deliberately slamming her breaks to bully a driver with a sleeping child in their car.
They wrote, “ROAD BULLY on Jalan Tebrau, JB. The victim had a small child who was sleeping at the back seat. Imagine if there was an accident.”
In the video, the victim could be seen driving at 87km/h on the fast lane, with the road bully coming up quick behind them. The road bully then tailgated and flashed their lights at the victim, who slowed their car down to 67km/h and changed lanes to allow the road bully to pass. The victim then insistently honked at the road bully.
This though, caused the road bully to overtake the victim and slam their breaks, forcing the victim to come to a sudden stop to avoid hitting the road bully. What makes this scarier is the fact that a huge trailer was coming in fast behind them, which managed to stop short of slamming into the victim’s car.
The road bully has since been arrested for dangerous driving, but netizens believe it was the victim that was at fault. They shared that the victim had provoked the road bully by hogging the fast lane, slowing down when the road bully tailgated them and honking at the road bully.
They also highlighted the fact that the victim should not have been driving in the manner that they were if they were worried for the safety of the child in their car.
“Please give way to those who want to overtake. The right lane is for overtaking, not for leisurely drives. You already saw them flashing their high beams at you, what’s so difficult about letting her overtake? Don’t provoke and don’t drive according to your emotions.”
“I don’t know who is bullying who but you’re driving at 80+km/h on the right lane and you provoked others by honking many times. You are the same, problematic highway user.”
“Hogging the road and playing the victim. You already know there is a small child in the car, use your brain and driving in the most left lane if you also want to drive slow like a tortoise.”
It is important to note that, no matter the actions of the victim, it should justify the road bully endangering the lives of others, especially an innocent child.
