MEMBAKUT: The main road to Pinopok and Tamalang is closed by a company which disallowed people to pass through, saying it inconvenienced them tremendously.
A resident, who wished to be known as Fadzly, said this on his Facebook page last Sunday where he stated that the road used to be under the purview of the Public Works Department.
“The road is a shortcut that enable residents to go to SK Temalang but they now had to use the long way.”
This included teachers who had to take a roundabout way through Jalan Poring which was in a bad condition.
The residents had to use the roundabout through Jalan Pinopok which took an hour to go through.
Fadzly also shared they used to travel just for a few minutes to their destinations but now it took longer. It wasn’t wrong to allow road access and allow residents to pass through easily, and not close it.
“Will the leaders look at this problem and allow the people to travel a long and bad road that take one hour to travel through?”
It was hoped that the Membakut State Assemblyman Datuk Arifin Ariff and Member of Parliament can look into the problem with a view to resolve it for the sake of the residents.”
“We also hope that the company concern allow the residents to use the road for easy access to their land and home,” he said.
