MANILA, Philippines—The Manila Police District (MPD) announced that several roads would be closed on Sunday for a “projected rally” of the United People’s Initiative (UPI).
In a Facebook post, the MPD said the road closures would start at 6 a.m., which will cover the stretch of Magallanes Drive from Jones to McArthur Bridge, the southbound lane of McArthur Bridge from Plaza Lacson to Liwasang Bonifacio, the southbound lane of Quezon Blvd. from A. Mendoza/Fugoso St. to Quezon Bridge to Liwasang Bonifacio and the southbound lane of Lerma St. from España Blvd./P. Campa to A. Mendoza Blvd.
While they predicted that the road closures will start at 6 a.m., the MPD noted that the time of closure would depend on the actual traffic situation and crowd conditions.
Back on June 10, the UPI staged the “Interfaith Rally Against Corruption” also in Liwasang Bonifacio.
