As per an advisory issued by the Panchkula traffic police, the road from Krishi Bhawan traffic light point to Rally Chowk will remain closed till July 5. This closure is due to repair work on the CBD line between Sector 12 and Sector 12A. Ongoing excavation and the deployment of heavy machinery are expected to cause traffic disruptions in the area.
To ensure smooth traffic flow, road users are advised to take alternative routes during this period or follow the directions of traffic police personnel deployed on site.
In another development, the police have decided to remove barricades at Majri Chowk on a trial basis daily from 8 am to 10 am and 4 pm to 6 pm.
Road users and RWAs have requested senior police officials to consider the removal of this chokepoint to streamline traffic on the Chandigarh–Shimla National Highway. “During the trial period, a detailed study of actual traffic conditions will be conducted, after which a long-term strategy will be decided,” officials said.
