SANDAKAN: The Road Transport Department (RTD) Sandakan Branch recorded a total of 13,921 summonses issued for various offences from Jan to Nov 2024.
Sabah JPJ Director, Mohd Harris Ali, said 17.75 per cent, or 2,377 cases involved driving without a licence, marking a significant increase compared to the same period last year.
AdvertisementThe other offences involve expired vehicle and motor insurance, unregistered vehicles and unauthorized vehicle modifications.
“A total of 379 vehicles were inspected during the operation, resulting in 139 summonses issued for various offenses.

The operation involved Sandakan JPJ Branch Head, Joegeoffery Dyadmus, alongside enforcement agencies such as the Police, the Immigration Department and the Commercial Vehicle Licensing Board (CVLB).

All complaints had been addressed, he said.

Summonses were issued to the offenders,” he said, urging the public to use the MyJPJ application as the primary platform for submitting complaints.
“The application allows users to capture and upload images along with their complaints, enabling JPJ to take swift action against drivers who violate traffic laws,” he said.
Sabah JPJ is committed to cooperating with enforcement agencies who needed assistance to ensure effective law enforcement.
