Road upgrade at Subang Jaya began, aiming to eliminate road congestion

SHAH ALAM, July 8 - Upgrading works for the Kewajipan Roundabout and Persiaran Intersection in Subang Jaya have started, said the Subang Jaya City Council (MBSJ).

The works aimed to improve traffic flow, enhance road users’ safety, and upgrade the infrastructure for the community's comfort.

“Throughout the upgrading works period, we would like to remind the public to drive carefully and obey all safety signs,” it said in a Facebook post.

MBSJ added that the project, which is fully funded by the Sunway Group, will plant 10 new trees for each tree removed.

“This project is fully funded by Sunway as a part of its commitment to support infrastructure development that is safer, modern, and sustainable in Subang Jaya,” it said.

Previously, Media Selangor reported that upgrades to the Kewajipan Roundabout will start in July.

On May 25, Subang Jaya state assemblyman Michelle Ng Mei Sze said the works aim to resolve long-standing traffic congestion problems.

She said congestion often occurred when many vehicles parked along the road between the school and the post office, especially from Monday to Friday between 2pm and 3pm.

“We expect that in the middle of the year, this project can start, including upgrades to the roundabout, and it needs at least six months to finish,” Ng said.
