MANILA, Philippines —The Manila Police District (MPD) on Saturday issued a traffic advisory and road closures during the Chinese New Year celebration on Feb. 17, 2026.

In a Facebook post, the MPD said starting Feb. 16, the Binondo-Intramuros Bridge will be closed starting at 3 a.m. Southbound traffic on Jones Bridge will be closed beginning at 7 p.m., while northbound traffic on the same bridge will be closed starting at 9 p.m. At 10 p.m., U-turn access and road sections around Plaza Lorenzo Ruiz will also be closed, including parts of Ongpin Street, Juan Luna Street, Quintin Paredes Street, and Plaza Cervantes.

To minimize traffic congestion, the MPD urged motorists to take alternative routes during the closures. Vehicles from Juan Luna Street heading to Jones Bridge southbound will be redirected via Dasmariñas Street, Muelle de Binondo, and Muelle de la Industria toward Plaza Sta. Cruz. Motorists from P. Burgos Avenue travelers heading northbound will be advised to use MacArthur Bridge or Quezon Bridge.

Meanwhile, those coming from Riverside Drive and bound for the Binondo–Intramuros Bridge northbound will be diverted through A. Soriano Avenue and Anda Circle. Those traveling from Muelle de la Industria and heading southbound will be rerouted via Muelle Banco de Nacional. Meanwhile, motorists from San Fernando Street bound for Jones Bridge will be redirected through Dasmariñas Street and Muelle de Binondo.
