Robert Jenrick slams ‘waste of time’ GMB interview in awkward hot mic moment

Robert Jenrick was caught criticising a Good Morning Britain interview as a “waste of time” in a hot mic moment on Wednesday (22 July).

After taking a grilling from hosts Ed Balls and Susanna Reid, the Reform UK treasury spokesperson logged off the call as the hosts moved on to presenting their next segment.

However, it was quickly interrupted as Mr Jenrick could be heard off-camera saying: “Well that was a waste of time.”

“Oh dear,” Mr Balls responded immediately, disagreeing with Mr Jenrick’s assessment and stating that it was “good that he came on the programme”.

Mr Jenrick later wrote on X: “We’ve got Ed’s useless mates back in government, people are struggling, and he can’t be bothered to ask how Reform would do things differently.”
