
WITH a net worth of US$11.4 (RM54) billion, tycoon Tan Sri Robert Kuok again topped the list as the wealthiest Malaysia, according to the Forbes 2024 Billionaires List.
Ranked at 176, the 101-year-old Kuok is the only Malaysian in the top 200 list of billionaires.
Kuok founded and controls the Kuok Group, which has operations across the region in sectors including hospitality, agriculture, real estate, freight and logistics.
Hong Leong Group executive chairman Tan Sri Quek Leng Chan is the next richest Malaysian, with a net worth of US$8.8 billion. He ranks no. 287 on the list.
Quek is followed by media and telco magnate Tan Sri Ananda Krishnan at no. 624 with US$4.9 billion.
Press Metal Aluminium founder Tan Sri Koon Poh Keong, with a net worth of US$3.7 billion, ranks 871th.
Brothers Datuk Lee Yeow Chor and Lee Yeow Seng of the IOI Group each has a net worth of US$3.1 billion and US$2.3 billion, respectively.
Also on the list is Genting Group's Tan Sri Lim Kok Thay with a net worth of US$2.3 billion.
Other Malaysians on the list include Wong Kie Chie with US$2.2 billion; Tan Sri Dr Jeffrey Cheah (US$2 billion); Tan Sri Lau Cho Kun (US$1.5 billion); Diona Teh Li Shian (US$1.4 billion); Lillian Teh Li Ming (US$1.4 billion); Lillyn Teh Li Hua (US$1.4 billion); Lim Chai Hock (US$ 1.4 billion); William Teh Lee Pang (US$1.4 billion); Tan Sri Syed Mokhtar Albukhary (US$1.3 billion) and Datuk Seri Cheah Cheng Hye (US$1 billion).
