MANILA, Philippines — Television host Robi Domingo and his wife, Maiqui Pineda, announced Tuesday that they are expecting their first child.
The couple shared the news through a heartfelt social media video posted on their second wedding anniversary.
“Two years married… and now our greatest blessing is on the way. Happy 2nd anniversary! We’re ready to give you all our love,” Domingo wrote in the caption.
The post included a clip dated Sept. 29, 2025, showing Pineda taking a pregnancy test that turned out positive. The couple was seen reacting with visible excitement before hugging each other.
Domingo also shared videos of celebrity friends reacting to the news, which he revealed to them through his phone. Among those featured were Darren Espanto, Donny Pangilinan, Enchong Dee, Kathryn Bernardo, Vice Ganda, Anne Curtis, Coco Martin, Melai Cantiveros and Bini member Mikha Lim.
Domingo and Pineda, both alumni of Ateneo de Manila University, first reconnected in 2017 after meeting again at an ABS-CBN Christmas party. Their friendship eventually grew closer, leading to the start of their relationship on Aug. 6, 2018, during a diving trip in Anilao, Batangas.
The television host proposed to Pineda on Nov. 4, 2022, at the Shibuya crossing in Tokyo, Japan. The couple later married on Jan. 6, 2024, in an intimate church ceremony at the Diocesan Shrine and Parish of San Isidro Labrador in Pulilan, Bulacan.
Their pregnancy announcement comes after a challenging period for the couple. Pineda revealed in August 2023 that she had been diagnosed with dermatomyositis, a rare autoimmune disease that causes muscle weakness, inflammation and skin rashes. In December 2024, she announced that she was in clinical remission, meaning her symptoms were barely detectable.
