Remember when gaming hardware loved showing off what was hiding inside? ASUS ROG is bringing that look back with the new ROG XBOX Ally X20, a special-edition handheld created to celebrate ROG’s 20th anniversary.
The X20 comes in a translucent black chassis with a gold internal structure, giving it that classic see-through gaming hardware vibe while still packing some seriously modern hardware underneath.
At the centre of the handheld is AMD’s Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme processor, paired with ROG’s new Nebula HDR Display. The screen is a 7.4-inch OLED panel, while the cooling system has also been revamped to handle the hardware inside.
And if the handheld itself isn’t enough, ROG is also putting together a rather wild collector’s bundle.
The ROG XBOX Ally X20 Bundle packs the handheld together with a custom dbrand Killswitch case, complete with gold-and-black accents, rugged grips and a kickstand. There’s also a custom dbrand skin based on the circuit-board design of the X20’s internals, plus ROG-branded joystick covers.
Everything can then be packed into a custom Pelican Protector Case featuring red ROG latches and a special 20th anniversary badge. A 68W charger is included too, so the whole setup is ready to travel.
The bundle also comes with the ROG XREAL R1 Edition 20 Gaming AR Glasses, which are arguably the most unusual part of the package.
These glasses feature a 240Hz micro-OLED display and can produce a virtual 171-inch screen when viewed from four metres away. They also offer a 57-degree field of view, 0.01ms response time and native 3DoF tracking, while Anchor Mode lets the virtual display stay fixed in place.
BOSE handles the audio, and connecting the glasses to the XBOX Ally X20 only requires a single USB-C cable. ROG has also integrated Command Center support to make the setup easier to manage.
For Malaysian gamers, ROG is giving buyers a few ways to get into the 20th anniversary lineup. The ROG XBOX Ally X20 and ROG XREAL R1 Edition 20 Gaming AR Glasses will both be sold separately, while the full bundle combines everything into one collector-focused package.
