The District Elementary Education Officer (DEEO), Rohtak, has placed a guest teacher posted at a government school in the district under suspension with immediate effect.
According to an order issued by the DEEO office on Wednesday, Sulekha Dalal, a Primary Teacher (PRT) engaged as a guest teacher at Government Middle School (GMS), Rainkpura, has been suspended with effect from June 8.
The suspension has drawn public attention as it came a few days after Sulekha participated in a protest organised by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) in Delhi on June 6. However, the suspension order does not specify the reasons behind the action.
Confirming the suspension, DEEO Bijender Hooda said that the action had been taken due to violations of conduct rules while Sulekha maintained that she had not been informed about the exact grounds for her suspension.
Responding to queries regarding her participation in the CJP protest, Dalal said she had nothing to do with the organisation. “I participated in the event solely to support and amplify the concerns of young people, who were raising issues affecting them,” she added.
As per the suspension order, Sulekha will be entitled to subsistence allowance in accordance with Rule 83 of the Haryana Civil Services (General) Rules, 2016, during the suspension period. The order further states that her headquarters during this period will be the office of the Block Education Officer (BEO), Rohtak.
She has also been directed not to leave the headquarters without obtaining prior permission from the competent authority.
