Roma defender Chris Smalling says they left everything on the pitch after their Europa League final defeat to Sevilla.
Roma lost in a penalty shootout after scores were locked at 1-1 at the end of extra-time.
Smalling said later: "It's a big disappointment. It's hard to lose on penalties, which are a lottery. We were determined to win and we left everything on the pitch.
"There is sadness and disappointment in everyone because we fought hard to get to the final. Seeing others celebrate will stay with us for a long time. We have to try to have another chance next season.
"Mourinho was very proud of us at the end of the game. He said we have always been together and we must be strong because we win and lose together."
