Roma striker Paulo Dybala fears his World Cup hopes are over.

Dybala converted the winning penalty in their 2-1 victory over Lecce at the Stadio Olimpico, but did not celebrate.

He immediately felt something pull in his left thigh and began hobbling badly, then limped straight over to the touchline for a substitution.

Dybala was later seen on the bench in tears.

Roma coach Jose Mourinho said: “I say bad, but I think very, very bad. I am not a doctor, but in my experience, and speaking to Paulo, it's unlikely we'll see him this year."
