Liverpool chose to sign Wataru Endo over Sofyan Amrabat last week, it has been revealed.
Endo was a surprise arrival from Stuttgart last week and made his debut in victory over Bournemouth.
Fiorentina midfielder Amrabat has also been linked with the Reds.
But transfer expert Fabrizio Romano is reporting: "With Liverpool, they considered a deal for Sofyan Amrabat last week. However, they turned down a move, having signed Endo instead.
"For Man United, he remains a priority target, however they have to sell at least one more player."
