Kota Kinabalu: Sabah Institute of Development (IDS) Chairperson Datuk Seri Azizah Mohd Dun said women’s participation can help shift cultural norms and attitudes towards gender roles, particularly in fostering a more equitable society.

“We have seen a significant increase in women’s participation across various sectors, including the economy, social affairs, and politics.

“Women play a crucial role at home as family managers while also holding strategic positions in organisations, leading major corporations, and shaping key national policies.

“Recently, the Department of Statistics Malaysia (DOSM) reported in December 2024 that the percentage of women in management positions rose from 23.8 per cent in 2023 to 25.4 per cent in 2024.
