PETALING JAYA: Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor says she has no information on whether the RM50 million fine imposed on her husband, former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak, in connection with his house arrest arrangement has been paid.
“I do not know, the family does not know and I have not been informed about it,” she told reporters after a case management proceeding at the Kuala Lumpur Court Complex today.
Asked about the payment, Rosmah said she was not involved and advised reporters to seek clarification from Umno secretary-general Datuk Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki.
Meanwhile, police have stepped up security outside Najib’s Jalan Langgak Duta residence amid reports that he could return home to serve the remainder of his prison sentence under house arrest.
About 30 police personnel, including Sentul police chief ACP Anuar Bakri Abdul Salam and his deputy, were seen at the property from about 10.30am. Media personnel were told to remain at the junction leading to the residence.
However, Anuar Bakri said police had yet to receive confirmation of Najib’s return.
“No information, but we (the police) are making preparations,” he said when contacted.
Najib, 73, is reportedly expected to return home after Friday prayers, although authorities have yet to confirm the arrangement.
