Kate Middleton’s “hardest” moment with Meghan Markle took place in the wake of Queen Elizabeth’s death, a new biography has revealed.

According to royal author Rob Jobson, Prince William attempted to put on a “show of unity” within the family.

Now heir to the throne, he suggested that the “the Fab Four” reunite “for the sake of their late grandmother by viewing the floral tributes at Windsor together”.

Jobson wrote: “Catherine later admitted to a member of the Royal Family that such was the extent of ill-feeling between the couples, the walkabout had been the hardest thing she’d ever had to do.”

The new biography also revealed that Meghan told William to “get your finger out of my face” during a row about Kate.

This happened after the Duchess of Sussex claimed Kate’s “baby brain” had caused her to forget a detail of her wedding plans.

During talks to clear the air, William described Meghan as “rude”.

“Meghan stood up to him and said, ‘Take your finger out of my face,’” Jobson wrote.

Emma Guinness

The Princess of Wales presented the late Queen with her “terms” before officially agreeing to join the royal family, royal author Rob Jobson has claimed in his new biography.

Kate, 42, was in a relationship with Prince William for the best part of a decade before they finally tied the not in 2011 and well-aware of the demands of being in The Firm.

Jobson wrote that she “established some fundamental life rules that she would stick to when she joined The Firm.

“Her ‘terms’ were in fact presented to Queen Elizabeth and Prince Charles.

“She was clear from the outset that she would not be pigeon-holed into carrying out particular duties.

“Her priority, she emphasised, would always be her family.”

Harry and Meghan’s friends ‘sever ties’ with couple

10:07

Emma Guinness

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s circle of friends has dwindled as a result of their fued with the royal family.

This claim comes in the wake of the Duke of Wesminster’s wedding, which Harry, in reported consultation with his friend, agreed not to attend because of Prince William.

Royal expert Katie Nicholl said: “I think if you look back to that recent society wedding of the Duke of Westminster, it was William who got the invite to that, and Harry was invited because they’ve been friends forever and a day, but he was basically asked to stand down from that wedding because it would have been very awkward to have had the two brothers at a society wedding like that, together.”

Nicholl added to InStyle: “I think the ties have been severed. I think there is a sense that, possibly, friends, close friends, society friends, celebrity friends have sort of had to make a little bit of a choice.”

04:00

Emma Guinness

Prince Harry will enjoy a bumper payday on his 40th birthday later this year thanks to the late Queen Mother.

The royal, who passed away in 2002 at the age of 101, left a large portion of her fortune to Harry, 39, because of his status as the spare.

Royal expert Kinsey Schofield told the Mirror: “Prince Harry is set to receive more money than Prince William because he is the spare.

“The Queen Mother knew he would have fewer opportunities and responsibilities. It was a logical and thoughtful decision.”

“There will be no tensions as [the family] knew about this arrangement for decades. Prince William likely quietly inherited his share two summers ago when he turned 40.”

The Queen Mother had an estimated fortune of £70 million. It has been speculated that Prince Harry will inherit £6.6 million when he turns 40 in September.

Late Queen Mother would be ‘profoundly disappointed’ in Prince Harry

Tuesday 30 July 2024 22:00

Emma Guinness

The late Queen Mother would be “profoundly disappointed” in Prince Harry and “to see history repeating itself” through his relationship with Meghan Markle.

Former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond told OK! magazine: “I’m afraid the Queen Mother would have been mightily disappointed to see history repeating itself as Harry fell in love with a divorced American woman and then left royal life and went to live abroad… almost in exile, like her brother-in-law King Edward VIII, who abdicated for the love of Wallis Simpson.

“I think she would have been angry with Meghan for some of the things that she has said, and profoundly disappointed that Harry has publicly attacked his own family.”

The Queen Mother passed away in 2002 at the age of 101. She became queen when her brother-in-law unexpectedly stepped down as a working royal and abdicated.

Tuesday 30 July 2024 09:28

Emma Guinness

Meghan Markle told Prince William to “get your finger out of my face” during an argument about her treatment of the Princess of Wales.

The row erupted after Harry and Meghan returned from their honeymoon when the princess confronted the new Duchess of Sussex for saying she had “baby brain”, royal author Rob Jobson claimed in his new biography.

He wrote: “Catherine, according to Harry’s memoir Spare, confronted Meghan about the ‘baby brain’ comment and said, ‘You talked about my hormones. We are not close enough for you to talk about my hormones.’

“Meghan was surprised, according to Harry, and said it was the way she spoke to her girlfriends.

“William stepped in and apparently pointed at Meghan and called her ‘rude’.

“Meghan stood up to him and said, ‘Take your finger out of my face.’”

The “baby brain” comment was reportedly made by Meghan after Kate forgot a detail about her wedding while pregnant with Prince Louis.

King Charles made Prince William sign a waiver accepting the consequences of flying his family by helicopter, a royal insider has claimed.

The monarch and the late Queen Elizabeth expressed concerns about William’s insistence to continue to fly his family together, despite them being direct heirs to the throne.

Royal author Rob Jobson wrote in his upcoming biography of the Princess of Wales: “After being diagnosed with cancer, King Charles – perhaps reminded of his own mortality – echoed his late mother’s concerns.

“And when William refused to stop flying with his family, Charles insisted that he sign a formal document, acknowledging the risks involved and taking full responsibility for his actions.

“It would be scant consolation, of course, for an unspeakable tragedy, let alone for the prospect of King Harry and Queen Meghan…”

King Charles used Prince Andrew to send William a ‘pointed’ message

Tuesday 30 July 2024 04:00

Emma Guinness

King Charles reportedly attempted to heal the rift between his warring sons by extending an olive branch to the disgraced Prince Andrew.

This took place on Christmas Day 2022 and again in 2023 when the Duke of York joined the royal family for their traditional walk to church at Sandringham.

Prince Andrew and his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson were also welcomed by the family at Easter.

Royal author Rob Jobson speculated: “Perhaps the King is subliminally trying to show William that forgiving one’s brother and giving him a second chance is a strength, not a weakness.”

Andrew stepped down as a working royal in 2019 following his association with convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

Harry claims Meghan receives ‘too much attention'

Tuesday 30 July 2024 00:00

Emma Guinness

Prince Harry said his wife Meghan Markle receives “too much attention” in the UK and that is why he will not bring her back to the country.

The Duke of Sussex, 39, made the claim in the new ITV documentary, Tabloids on Trial, where he opened up about his ongoing personal security concerns.

After stepping down as working royals in 2020, Meghan and Harry lost the right to taxpayer-funded security.

He said of the tabloid press: “All it takes is one lone actor, one person who reads this stuff to act on what they have read. Whether it’s a knife or acid, whatever it is, these are things that are of genuine concern for me.

“It’s one of the reasons why I won’t bring my wife back to this country.”

Meghan last appeared in public in the UK at the late Queen Elizabeth’s funeral in September 2022.

Prince William and Queen Camilla ‘share anxiety and fear'

Monday 29 July 2024 22:00

Emma Guinness

Queen Camilla’s sister has opened up about the queen consort’s relationship with Prince William and said this year has brought them closer than ever.

Annabel Elliot, 75, born Shand like her sister, explained that Camilla, 77, has never tried to be a mother to the heir to the throne.

She said: “I would say there is a respect between Camilla and William. He sees his father is happy with a wife who is devoted to him. He shares with Camilla the anxiety and fear of caring and loving a spouse with cancer. That is a major common equation.

“That respect went public during the Proclamation ceremony [Accession Council] the day after Elizabeth II’s death. William was behind Queen Camilla and reached out to help not miss a stair.

“Camilla has been in William’s life for far more years than he was with his mother. Camilla never made an attempt to be a mother to William or Harry, but Charles made it clear to everyone who mattered that his relationship with Camilla was non-negotiable.”

Carole Middleton helped Kate through her heartbreak

Monday 29 July 2024 20:00

Emma Guinness

Carole Middleton played an important role in consoling Kate Middleton when she briefly split from Prince William in 2007, a royal insider has claimed.

Rob Jobson wrote in his upcoming biography of the princess that she was taken to Dublin by her mother after being dumped by the prince, then 25, over the phone.

“Carole Middleton acted swiftly, taking her heartbroken daughter for a break in Dublin – a welcome respite from media scrutiny,” Jobson wrote.

“William, of course, simply got drunk at Mahiki and started yelling about being ‘free’.

“On Catherine’s return, she decided she wasn’t going to sit around moping; what was good for the goose was good for the gander.”

According to Jobson, Kate’s decision to simply get on with her life and go out partying eventually won her the prince back and they reunited at a fancy dress party.

Why Prince William broke up with Kate Middleton

Monday 29 July 2024 18:00

Emma Guinness

Prince William broke up with Kate Middleton over the phone when he was 25 because he believed he was too young to settle down.

The revelation was made by Rob Jobson in his new biography of the now Princess of Wales when he detailed their brief 2007 split.

Jobson wrote: “[William] told her they both needed ‘a bit of space’ to ‘find our own way’, and he was unable to promise her marriage.

“In an emotionally charged 30-minute conversation, they both acknowledged they were on ‘different pages’. It was a devastating blow to Catherine, who felt doubly let down at being dumped over the phone.

“William, of course, simply got drunk at Mahiki and started yelling about being ‘free’.”

But Kate soon won her boyfriend of five years back by wearing a nurse’s outfit to a fancy dress party where they reconciled.

Prince William ‘came to blows’ with Charles and late Queen over flying habits

Monday 29 July 2024 16:00

Emma Guinness

Prince William came to blows with King Charles and the late Queen Elizabeth over his decision to fly his family in a helicopter together, a royal insider has revealed.

The heir to the throne, 42, has refused to separate himself from his three children, who are all direct heirs, and this has been a cause for concern with reigning monarchs.

Royal author Rob Jobson wrote: “Earlier this year, the King had raised concerns with his son about the wisdom of William using his helicopter to fly his entire family around the country.

“An experienced pilot, William had upset the late Queen when he defied her request not to pilot his family the 115 miles from Kensington Palace to Anmer Hall, their home in Norfolk. The Queen, haunted by the 1967 crash that killed the Captain of the Queen’s Flight (although no royals were on board), ‘did not hold back’, one aide said.”

Jobson claimed that Charles has now insisted “that [William] sign a formal document, acknowledging the risks involved and taking full responsibility for his actions.”

“It would be scant consolation, of course, for an unspeakable tragedy, let alone for the prospect of King Harry and Queen Meghan,” he added.

Prince William and Kate Middleton 'extremely concerned about the rise in antisemitism’

Monday 29 July 2024 15:00

Emma Guinness

Prince William has said both he and the Princess of Wales are “extremely concerned” about rising rates of antisemitism.

He made the revelation while on a visit to a London synagogue, which was initially supposed to take place in honour of National Holocaust Day in January.

The event was sadly postponed when Kate, 42, fell unwell.

The heir to the throne, now 42, said: “Antisemitism has no place in society. Prejudice has no place in society. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again.

“I want you all to know you can talk about it and your experiences.

“Both Catherine and I are extremely concerned about the rise in antisemitism that you guys have talked about this morning and I’m just so sorry if any of you have had to experience that, it has no place.

“That’s why I’m here today to reassure you all that people do care and people do listen and we can’t let that go.”

“She’d arrived dressed as a nurse and William had made a beeline for her,” Jobson claimed. “They then spent the first part of the evening deep in conversation before hitting the dance floor, where they ended up kissing.”

The pair proceeded to marry in 2011.

Meghan Markle has become ‘British-phobic'

Monday 29 July 2024 13:00

Emma Guinness

A royal expert has claimed that Meghan Markle is “British-phobic” and that she does not have genuine security concerns preventing her from returning to the UK.

Her last public appearance in the country was at the late Queen Elizabeth’s funeral in September 2022.

This comes after Prince Harry recently said he will not bring Meghan to the UK because he fears she could be subject to an acid or knife attack because of what has been said in the British press.

Royal commentator Rafe Heydel-Mankoo said of the Tabloids on Trial revelations: “This is not about knives. This is not about acid. This is about Meghan’s fear of booing.

“I think she is petrified that the great British public will vocalise their dislike of her. And I actually think now she’s become quite Britain-phobic.”

King Charles ‘may never see Archie and Lilibet again’

Monday 29 July 2024 12:00

Emma Guinness

It has been speculated that King Charles may never see his youngest grandchildren Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet again.

This comes after Prince Harry’s recent revelations in the new ITV documentary Tabloids on Trial, where he said that he will not bring Meghan Markle to the UK because he fears for her safety.

Addressing his family’s ongoing safety concerns, Harry, 39, said: “All it takes is for one lone actor who reads this stuff to act on what they’ve read. And whether it’s a knife or acid, these are things that are genuine concerns for me. It’s one of the reasons why I won’t bring my wife back to this country.”

“It would be great to think that at some point soon the King would get to visit the grandchildren that he has seen very little of, but he is 75 and still not in the best of health,” Joe Little, the managing editor of Majesty magazine, told the MailOnline.

“A visit to America is unlikely to be a high priority now, given the other demands on his time.”

King Charles gave Prince Harry ‘a substantial sum’

Monday 29 July 2024 11:00

Emma Guinness

Prince Harry was reportedly given a “substantial sum” after stepping down as a working royal and was not “cut off financially”, royal author Rob Jobson has claimed.

Ahead of his new biography of the Princess of Wales, he revealed that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle believed that they would be compensated with a lavish lifestyle for serving the Crown.

But the couple reportedly grew discontent when they discovered the “disparity” between their wealth and that of direct heir Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton.

“Harry later claimed that his father told him there was ‘not enough money to go around’ for Meghan, because he was already having to pay for William and Catherine,” Jobson wrote in the MailOnline.

Harry was furious – feeling that he and Meghan were entitled to lavish handouts from ‘Pa’ in return for agreeing to serve the crown. In fact, according to close sources, Charles ended up giving Harry a ‘substantial sum’ and did not cut him off financially.”
