The Duke of Sussex seems in good spirits in Canada has already been caught dad-dancing, joking and hugging the competitors before delivering a heartfelt speech to open the ceremony.

Now he can be seen making his wife Meghan and Nelly Furtado crack up backstage as he does a straightfaced reveal behind them ahead of the popstars headline slot.

Furtado captioned the post with the couple who have been full of public displays of affection for each other: “They’re beautiful, that’s for sure”.

He said in his opening speech: "Beyond any differences, here at the Invictus Games we are grounded in mutual respect, competing fiercely, but believing in one another. Supporting one another. And rooting for one another.

"The Games were born more than a decade ago, from a promise I made to myself. A promise to uphold my obligation—a sacred obligation after my own decade and privilege of military service —to do whatever I could to help my fellow brothers and sisters heal, and to champion everything we stand for.

He addressed veterans, adding: "Over the past decade I’ve lost count of the times we’ve heard you tell us that the Invictus Games saved you. Respectfully, I disagree. Invictus didn’t save you. You saved yourself. It was you, who pushed through the doubt and despair.”

President Donald Trump seems to have ruled out deporting the Duke of Sussex from the US, it has been reported.

Prince Harry now lives in Montecito, California, with his wife Meghan Markle and their children, but questions had been raised about his immigration status because of his admitted former drug use.

Mr Trump appeared to have ruled out deportation, telling The New York Post: "I'll leave him alone." He added: "He's got enough problems with his wife. She's terrible."

Meghan has previously been a vocal critic of former reality star Mr Trump and called him "divisive" and a "misogynist".

In 2016, Meghan expressed her support for Hillary Clinton in the US presidential election and hinted that she would leave the country if Donald Trump won.

Harry's reference to taking cocaine, marijuana and psychedelic mushrooms in his book Spare prompted a conservative Washington DC think tank to question why he was allowed into the US in 2020.
