It seems that there may be some tensions between fugitive blogger Raja Petra Kamarudin (RPK) and the opposition pact as he is now criticizing Perikatan Nasional (PN) and exposing their weaknesses.
RPK recently compared the fate of UMNO splinter party, Semangat 46, with Bersatu, blatantly criticizing the latter. However, he has now seemingly sided with the Yang di-Pertuan Agong (YDPA) by echoing His Majesty's message that changing the government just for the sake of it is not justifiable.
RPK expressed his frustration with the numerous attempts to topple the government, such as the Dubai Move, London Move, Chow Kit Move, and others. He emphasized that there had already been three changes of government since the 14th General Election, and if another change were to happen as planned in December, the unity government's lifespan would be even shorter than the previous administrations.
RPK believes that the Agong's message should be understood and that he may not have consented to previous attempts to change the government. Using the analogy of an old car that spends more time in the workshop than on the road, RPK described PN's continuous push for a change in government. He questioned the reasoning behind changing a dysfunctional government for another dysfunctional one.
RPK believes that if the current government is not working and the alternative offered by the opposition is not any better, then there is no justification for a change. RPK expressed extreme disappointment with the Budget 2024 presentation by the opposition, claiming that they didn't do their homework and failed to come up with a better alternative. He emphasized that the Malay rulers are educated individuals who know how to think and are more intelligent than many politicians.
RPK highlighted that the Agong didn't make his decision unilaterally but discussed it with his brethren rulers over the years. He urged people not to blame the Agong for the failure to change the government, as his priority is the nation's interest. RPK concluded by stating that the Johor ruler, who will become the incoming Agong, is even tougher and will not tolerate gutter politics. The aim should be to allow the unity government to administer for one full term.
Overall, Raja Petra Kamarudin's recent statements suggest that he has shifted his stance towards the opposition and is now critical of Perikatan Nasional. He emphasizes the importance of understanding the Agong's message and questions the need for a change if the alternative is not significantly better. RPK also expresses disappointment with the opposition's performance and highlights the intelligence of the Malay rulers in decision-making processes.
