BJP MP Yogendra Chandolia on Wednesday said North West Delhi has witnessed significant transformation during the 12 years of the Narendra Modi-led government, with development projects worth more than Rs 18,000 crore improving connectivity, healthcare, education and public infrastructure across the region.
Addressing a press conference, Chandolia said major infrastructure projects, including the proposed Rithala-Kundli Metro corridor and the Urban Extension Road-2 (UER-2), are reshaping North West Delhi and improving the quality of life for residents.
“The region is emerging as one of the fastest-developing parts of Delhi. Government schemes and development projects are strengthening connectivity, healthcare, education and public amenities,” he said.
Among the key projects, the MP highlighted the proposed 26.5-km Rithala-Kundli Metro corridor, estimated to cost around Rs 6,830 crore. The corridor will have 21 stations and is expected to improve connectivity between Delhi and neighbouring areas of Haryana.
Chandolia also referred to the Rs 12,000-crore Urban Extension Road-2 project. He said the corridor has improved connectivity between the Delhi airport, Mundka, Rohini, Alipur and adjoining areas. The project has also helped reduce traffic congestion and support economic activity in the region.
In the healthcare sector, he highlighted the proposed Central Ayurvedic Research Institute in Rohini Sector 28, for which the foundation stone was laid in January 2025. The project, estimated at Rs 187 crore, will include a 100-bed Ayurvedic research hospital and related facilities.
The MP also listed several local development works, including footpath construction and civic infrastructure projects worth Rs 48 crore in Rohini Sectors 23, 24 and 25. He further highlighted the construction of the Atal Sports Complex in Rohini Sector 33 at an estimated cost of about Rs 109 crore.
He said a Delhi Government hospital in Kirari is also in the pipeline and its foundation stone will be laid soon. A new Kendriya Vidyalaya building in Rohini Sector 22 has also been proposed to strengthen educational infrastructure and expand learning facilities in the area.
