RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner has set the record straight over claims he wants to join Bayern Munich.
Also a long-term target for Liverpool, Werner insists he was misquoted in a recent interview where it was claimed he only wanted a Bayern move.
He told BILD: "I said in the interview that at the time, in addition to the English and Spanish top clubs, in Germany, there would be only one club for me. "Afterwards the statement to Bavaria was highlighted - and those other clubs simply omitted."
Werner has learned his lesson from this, as he admits: "We always want honest, authentic players, but in the end, the process teaches me to be silent."
