Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM) have almost 30 years of collaboration with Astro.

The move of stopping broadcasting services of its channels on Astro’s satellite platform means Astro subscribers will no longer be able to access RTM channels directly through the satellite platform unless alternative arrangements are made.

According to reports, the decision came after both parties failed to reach” a pricing agreement and contract” that meets their needs and financial capabilities.

What channels could be affected?

RTM announced that it will officially stop broadcasting its channels on Astro’s satellite and over-the-top (OTT) platforms starting July 1, 2026:

  • TV1-HD
  • TV2-HD
  • Okey
