- Russell Brand is currently on trial at Southwark Crown Court facing three counts of rape, three counts of sexual assault, and one count of indecent assault, all of which he denies.
- A female witness told the court that a culture of fear and workplace banter at radio station Choice FM prevented her from reporting Brand after he allegedly pinned her to a wall, groped her, and forcibly kissed her in the mid-2000s.
- The accuser explained that workplace behaviour was not addressed by management at the time, stating she believed superiors would have dismissed the alleged assault by telling her she was lucky.
- The court heard that the woman was triggered to report the incident to police after watching a 2023 Dispatches documentary and a video in which Brand claimed all of his past sexual encounters were consensual.
- Under cross-examination by defence barrister Ian Winter KC, the witness firmly rejected suggestions that she had misidentified Brand or fabricated the allegation following the television broadcast.
