- Comedian Russell Brand spent the night behind bars after being found guilty of raping a fan and sexually assaulting three women at the peak of his showbiz career.
- Following the guilty verdict, Brand's defence barrister, Ian Winter KC, engaged in a heated verbal altercation outside the courtroom with Sunday Times chief news correspondent Rosamund Urwin.
- During the confrontation, Mr Winter reportedly confronted the journalist who worked on the 2023 investigation into Brand, telling her 'I hope you are pleased with yourself' and claiming 'You f***ed it'.
- Throughout the trial, Mr Winter had unsuccessfully argued that reporting by The Sunday Times, The Times, and Channel 4 Dispatches had poisoned the well of justice against his client.
- Mr Winter has since confirmed he has self-reported his actions to the Bar Standards Board to allow the allegations surrounding the incident to undergo proper professional scrutiny.
