Russian overnight drone and missile attacks kill three and injure 16 across Ukraine, damaging homes and infrastructure as Zelenskiy warns of a major new offensive.
KYIV: Russian forces launched a combined drone and missile assault across Ukraine overnight, killing at least three people and injuring 16 others.
The strikes damaged residential buildings, a hotel, and industrial infrastructure, according to Ukrainian regional officials.
President Volodymyr Zelenskiy had warned on Monday of an imminent, mass Russian offensive, citing intelligence reports.
In the southeastern city of Zaporizhzhia, one person was killed and five were injured in the attack.
“Russia launched a massive combined strike on Zaporizhzhia using drones and missiles,” regional governor Ivan Fedorov said on Telegram.
Fedorov reported damage to six apartment blocks, two private houses, a store, and an industrial facility.
He posted images showing firefighters battling a blaze in a high-rise building and a smaller structure engulfed in flames.
Two people were killed and 11 injured in the eastern Poltava region during the strikes.
The regional governor there said residential buildings and a hotel were damaged in the attack.
