Russian drone attacks hit Kyiv residential buildings, causing fires and injuring four people while disrupting power and water supplies across the city

KYIV: Russian drones targeted Ukraine’s capital early Tuesday, striking multiple residential buildings and igniting fires.

Officials confirmed at least four people were injured in the attacks.

Air defence systems were activated throughout the city as drones swarmed the capital.

Tymur Tkachenko, head of Kyiv’s military administration, reported a high-rise residential building was hit on the Dnipro River’s east bank.

“Four people had been treated for injuries and at least eight rescued from the building,” he said on Telegram.

Unofficial Telegram channels showed images of apartments burning on upper floors of the damaged building.

Mayor Vitali Klitschko confirmed another high-rise building was struck in the central Pechersk district.

The building was being evacuated following the impact.

Additional photos from unofficial sources showed sections of a building engulfed in flames.

Drone fragments reportedly fell in an open area within Kyiv’s eastern district.

Klitschko also announced disruptions to the city’s power and water supplies. – Reuters
