  • Rutte spoke in Washington, D.C. Thursday after a meeting with Trump on Wednesday.
  • While some countries within the western military alliance were initially “a bit slow” to respond to the conflict, they are now providing significant support, according to Rutte.
  • "When it came time to provide the logistical and other support the United States needed in Iran, some allies were a bit slow, to say the least,” he said. “In fairness, they were also a bit surprised. To maintain the element of surprise for the initial strikes, President Trump opted not to inform allies ahead of time.”
  • He said allies are now “providing a massive amount of support” and doing “everything the United States is asking.”
