Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers has shut down talk of an England return for Jamie Vardy.
England coach Gareth Southgate raised the prospect of Vardy ending his international retirement yesterday.
But Rodgers said, "It is something we spoke briefly on when I came in. That would be with the player. Jamie made the decision on it to prolong his career at club level.
"He is one of the elite strikers at this level. Not just as a English striker but in the whole league. He is an incredible talent and an English squad with him in it would be all the better for it.
"Jamie has made his decision and that is to the benefit of us here."
