Singapore’s ICA ramps up operations at Woodlands Checkpoint from Friday to deter traffic violations like speeding and queue cutting ahead of the festive period.

SINGAPORE: The Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) will conduct stepped-up enforcement operations at Woodlands Checkpoint from Friday to Tuesday.

The operations aim to deter and detect motorists committing traffic violations such as speeding and queue cutting ahead of the festive season.

ICA noted that eight cases of traffic violations were detected at the checkpoint in January.

Offenders faced enforcement action.

“The authorities will not hesitate to take firm action against travellers who commit offences or do not comply with officers’ instructions at the checkpoints,” ICA said in a Facebook post.

Drivers of foreign-registered vehicles may face entry bans for violations. Drivers of Singapore-registered vehicles may be referred to the Traffic Police for further investigations and penalties.
