A couple travelling in a Singapore-registered Lexus SUV refuelled at a local petrol station but drove off without making payment.
The petrol station operator has taken to the internet to look for the driver, urging them to return as soon as possible to settle the payment.
The incident occurred at around 9 PM yesterday at the Caltex petrol station located at the Skudai Highway Rest Area.
Speaking to China Press, a staff member from the petrol station said that after arriving at the station, the driver requested the staff to fill his vehicle with RON97 petrol. As such, payment was not collected upfront. Meanwhile, a woman in the SUV entered the convenience store to shop.
After finishing her shopping, the woman returned directly to the SUV, and the driver then drove off immediately.

The operator of the Caltex station at the Skudai Highway Rest Area is hoping that the driver of the Singapore-registered Lexus SUV will return as soon as possible to pay the petrol bill of RM139.01.
“Because the staff were busy at the time, it took a while before we realised that the vehicle had left without paying. We attempted to chase after the car but failed. Other motorists nearby witnessed the incident and even honked to alert them, but they still did not stop.”
Drove away without paying for more than 45 litres of petrol
The owner added that the Singapore-registered Lexus SUV had refuelled more than 45 litres of RON97 petrol, amounting to RM139.01.
They explained that if the driver does not return to make payment, the loss will have to be borne by the company and the staff member who assisted with the refuelling, who may face salary deductions.
“We hope netizens can help remind the driver to return to the petrol station as soon as possible and pay the bill.”
It is understood that the petrol station operator will provide a 48-hour grace period. If the driver fails to return to make payment within that time, a police report will be lodged.
