Ralph Hasenhuttl says Southampton supporters understand the club's philosophy.
The Austrian admits Saints have their limits, but they will continue to develop young players and be competitive in the Premier League.
Asked about the expectations he feels at Southampton, Hasenhuttl said: "I think we found a good balance with the possibilities we have and the way we go.
"The fans see very clearly that we have our limits but we are a very hard working club and have a focus on the young players to implement the new philosophy in their minds to make them better.
"This is a way that is very healthy for this club and it's something that everyone can identify with. It's exactly what you feel. Sure, it's all about winning games, and we always try to win as much as possible.
"We are always looking for signings that really make sense. We made three in the summer and they are all good ones who have helped us a lot. The crowd loves Moussa. Kevin is in a good way and Ch showed in pre-season that he can score. He hasn't done it in the Premier League but I'm sure he will.
"These three guys from their character, the way they play football and their age fit our philosophy perfectly. In the end, it's about developing them as quickly as possible and if we do that then I know we have much fun with these guys."
