Southampton winger Moussa Djenepo is facing an extended period on the sidelines due to injury.

The attacker, who has already scored two goals for the club at this early stage of the season, has a muscle problem in his leg.

Saints were hoping that it was a minor problem and he could return to training after some rest.

But it appears that it is a more significant issue for Djenepo.

"It can take longer he is back in the team," admitted Saints boss Ralph Hasenhuttl to reporters.

"It's not good for us that he is maybe longer out.

"We don't know at the moment and it's a difficult injury because the tendon is maybe hurt and it's a big risk to take him on the pitch. He can't shoot so it doesn't make sense.

"The other muscles could take the function to make this muscle more stable.

"At the moment I don't have a good message."
