In theory, RFID is the far superior solution to our tollbooth woes. Our system doesn’t require power, can easily cover cars moving at highway speeds, and is of a relatively low cost. However, in practice, things didn’t turn out exactly as planned. Why is that the case? Is it a tale of poor implementation? Or perhaps it has to do with the legacy systems already in place?
