Swedish aerospace and defence company Saab has landed a contract of 47 billion Swedish kronor ($4.8 billion) to supply Poland with three A26-type submarines, the company said on Monday.
Under the agreement signed on Monday with the Polish State Treasury Armaments Agency, Saab will also supply a weapon package and a training and support package.
The company will deliver continuously, with the final deliveries scheduled during 2038, it said.
To support the contract and the Polish navy's operation of the submarines, Saab noted that it is committed to starting maintenance, repair and overhaul facilities in Poland in close collaboration with the Polish companies.
