Saarani announces portfolios for 10 new Perak excos

IPOH – Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad, who was appointed as Perak menteri besar on Monday, today announced the portfolios of the state’s 10 executive councillors.

He said the list is a combination of experienced and young leaders, including those who were former executive councillors from Pakatan Harapan and Barisan Nasional (BN).

“Members of the Perak state executive council attended the first meeting to discuss and decide on some important matters today.

“Among others, the meeting agreed that the first sitting of the second session of the first year of the 15th Perak state assembly will be held on December 19 to present the 2023 budget,” he told a press conference here today.

He also announced the reappointment of Datuk Mohammad Zahir Abdul Khalid from BN as Perak assembly speaker.

On the portfolios, Saarani said in addition to leading the state government, he will also lead the state Islamic Religion, Finance, Security, Land, Natural Resources, Economic Planning, and Government-Linked Companies Committee. – Bernama, November 23, 2022

Following is the full list of state executive councillors and their respective portfolios:

1. Datuk Mohd Zolkafly Harun – Rural development, plantation, agriculture and food industry
2. Datuk Seri Mohammad Nizar Jamaluddin – Infrastructure, energy, water, and public transport
3. A. Sivanesan – Human resources, health, and Indian community affairs
4. Loh Sze Yee – Tourism, industry, investment, and corridor development
5. Salbiah Mohamed – Women, family, social welfare, and entrepreneur development
6. Teh Kok Lim – Science, environment, and green technology
7. Sandrea Ng Shy Ching – Housing and local government
8. Khairuddin Abu Hanipah – Education, higher education, youth and sports
9. Mohd Azlan Helmi – Communication, multimedia, and non-governmental organisations
10. Woo Kah Leong – Domestic trade, cooperatives, consumer affairs, and Chinese new villages
