
TUARAN: The State Government has allocated more than RM1.33 billion for human capital development since 2021, reinforcing its commitment to strengthening the education sector.
Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor said education remains a key priority under the Sabah Maju Jaya (SMJ) development plan.
From 2021 to 2024, RM848.26 million was channelled to education assistance programmes such as the Sabah State Education Fund (TPNS) and State Government Scholarships (BKNS), alongside RM485 million for human capital initiatives.

At the Mapens 2025 ceremony here, Hajiji announced the recent formation of the Sabah State TVET Council to coordinate over 160 technical and vocational institutions statewide.
He also highlighted the academic excellence of 146 top STPM students receiving RM1,000 each, and a national-level top scorer from Sabah receiving RM3,000.
Hajiji praised teachers for their dedication and urged continued commitment, noting the state’s improved 2024 SPM performance with an average grade of 5.00, and honouring recipients of the Tokoh Guru and Tokoh Kepimpinan awards.
