BARISAN Nasional (BN) Sabah finalised appointments of all positions at the state level in its first meeting held yesterday, said its chairman, Datuk Seri Arthur Joseph Kurup.
He said the reshuffle combines an experienced leadership line-up with the participation of young leaders.
"This is to strengthen the party structure and ensure a more organised, dynamic and effective work process in facing current challenges," he said in a statement today.
Through the reshuffle, Datuk Jafry Ariffin and Datuk Mohd Hasnol Ayub, remain as Sabah BN Deputy Chairman and Secretary, respectively.
BN Sabah also appointed Datuk Richard Kastum, Datuk Teah Heok Kuin and Chandrra Segar Soosaimany as Vice-Chairmen, while the Women's Head is Datuk Noraini Idris, Youth Head Sufian Abd Karim and Puteri Head Ummi Nabilah Jamal.
On January 21, BN Secretary-General Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir said that the BN Supreme Council Meeting decided to appoint Arthur as Sabah BN Chairman, while Jafry as Deputy Chairman and Mohd Hasnol as Secretary.
Arthur, who is also the President of Parti Bersatu Rakyat Sabah (PBRS), said that BN Sabah also expressed appreciation to the entire Sabah Unity Government machinery for the commitment, hard work and spirit of synergy that had been mobilised throughout the last by-election to ensure a win for BN candidates in the Kinabatangan Parliament and the Lamag State Legislative Assembly (DUN).
"BN Sabah insists that the main priority now is to ensure the full implementation of Sabah's rights under the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63). Demands for a 40 per cent revenue return, strengthening of state power and the return of rights agreed upon in the agreement.
"BN Sabah will continue to take a constructive approach to ensure that every matter under MA63 is implemented comprehensively, for the sake of justice and the future of Sabah," he said. – April 25, 2026
