Kota Kinabalu: Sabah Barisan Nasional (BN) Chairman Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin  reaffirmed the coalition’s unity and readiness for the coming 17th Sabah State General Election, following a meeting with MCA President Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong.

Bung described the meeting as warm and cordial, reflecting the strong spirit of camaraderie within BN.

“We exchanged views on various current issues and discussed BN’s direction as we approach PRN17,” he said in a statement.

He said the discussion further strengthened BN’s commitment to remain a mature, structured, and principled political coalition.

“Despite the ever-changing and challenging political landscape in Sabah, the cooperation and trust between BN component parties remain steadfast, grounded in our shared responsibility to the people,” he said.

Bung highlighted that MCA’s strength in urban areas and Umno’s influence in rural constituencies continue to form the backbone of political stability in Malaysia.

“This combination of experience and capability is crucial in ensuring that Sabah continues to progress in a stable, competitive, and people-centred political environment,” he said.

He emphasised that BN Sabah would continue holding strategic discussions with its component partners to ensure that the coalition’s approach towards upcoming state election prioritises the people’s interests over individual or factional agendas.

“Stability is not merely a slogan, it is a responsibility and an act of sincerity to build a better and more united future for Sabah,” he said.
