Kota Kinabalu: Sabah is set to host the Sabah-China Expo 2025, scheduled to take place over three days at Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC) here this November.

Sabah-China Chamber of Commerce (SCCC) Deputy President cum Secretary-General Ir Ts Tan Kok Jyh said the expo is part of efforts to attract investors and entrepreneurs from both China and Malaysia to strengthen Sabah’s business sector.

“Through this expo, we hope to attract more investors and entrepreneurs, whether from China or locally, to participate in business matching sessions aimed at developing various sectors such as agriculture, tourism and others.

Tan also said the SCCC is planning to lead a delegation of Sabah entrepreneurs to China this September to explore market opportunities and expand business networks in the country.

“We hope local entrepreneurs can expand their businesses globally, not only to China but also across the entire Asean region.

“We also aim to stimulate the agricultural sector and strengthen trade relations with China, given the vast market potential there,” he added.

Commenting on the courtesy call, Tan said it was to brief Musa on the progress of SCCC since its establishment in 2019 and to formally invite him to officiate the expo in November.

Also present were SCCC President Datuk Frankie C K Liew and Deputy President Datuk Jonathan Koh.
