THE Sabah Tourism, Culture and Environment Ministry (KePKAS) has consistently supported sustainable art initiatives in Sabah, particularly since the establishment of the Sabah Art Gallery building in 2013, notably, the first certified green building in the state.
Its Minister Datuk Seri Christina Liew, said the iconic facility stands as a symbol of the state’s commitment to environmentally conscious creative development.
“Over the years, the Ministry has also supported several impactful programs such as the W.O.W 1.0 or Wonders of Wilderness, that is, ‘The Ocean’, a public art installation in 2022, and Installation Art By the Bay KK.
“These two programmes have successfully promoted environmental awareness, cultural dialogue, and sustainable artistic practices within local and international communities,” she said when contacted by the Daily Express.
