Kota Kinabalu: Sabah’s para swimmers emerged overall champions in the MSN-Allianz-Prema National Para-swimming Circuit Two Championship held at the National Aquatic Centre in Bukit Jalil over the weekend.

They clinched 42 golds, eight silvers and eight bronzes to top the medal tally. Second place went to Selangor with 34 golds, 25 silvers and 14 bronzes while in third place were Sarawak with 19 golds, 13 silvers and 10 bronzes.

Wahyu Eqwal was the toast of the team with eight gold medals and the other gold medallists were Chia Faang Jann (6), Shahafiq Abdullah (7), Jonathan Wong (1), Abd. Halim (4), Chen Zai Sheng (2), Ethan Khoo (3), Sharlinie Valerie Voo (5), Brenda Larry (5) and the S14-girls 4 x100m free style relay team (Chloe Lim, Vernice Ho Michelyn Murin, Sitti Khairunnisa).

The silvers came from Wahyu Eqwal (1), Jonathan Wong (2), Chen Zai Sheng (1), Ethan Khoo (1), Suriyan Shah (2) and mix-4×100m free style team (Brenda Larry, Sharlinie Voo, Wahyu Eqwal, Shahafiq Abdullah), while the bronze medals were delivered by Jonathan Wong (2), Chen Zai Sheng (3) and Mohd Fairuz (3).
