KOTA KINABALU – Former Bersatu man Datuk Wetrom Bahanda has been dropped as a Sabah assistant minister in a minor reshuffle.
Wetrom had joined the Social Democratic Harmony Party to allow him to contest in the Kota Marudu parliamentary seat in the coming 15th general election.
He quit Bersatu earlier this month.
In announcing the reshuffle, Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor named Datuk Nizam Abu Bakar Titingan to fill in as assistant minister in the Chief Minister’s Department after Wetrom’s removal.
Assistant Community Development and People’s Well-being Minister Datuk Julita Majungki will step in as state assistant finance minister in Nizam’s place.
Hajiji also announced the appointment of Pintasan assemblyman Fairuz Renddan as the new assistant special functions minister.
Fairuz is also Sabah Bersatu Youth chief. – The Vibes, October 26, 2022
