Kota Kinabalu: Sabah Electricity Sdn Bhd Chief Executive Officer Datuk Mohd Yaakob Jaafar has been appointed a member of the CEO@Faculty Programme at the Faculty of Science and Technology (FST), Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS).
UMS said the appointment was presented by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Datuk Kasim Mansor during a ceremony held at the Executive Board Meeting Room of the UMS Chancellery Building on Monday.
The CEO@Faculty Programme is an initiative introduced by the Higher Education Ministry to bridge the gap between academia and industry by connecting industry leaders with higher education institutions.
According to the statement, the programme enables chief executives and industry leaders to share leadership experience, mentor lecturers and students, and contribute to curriculum development aligned with current industry needs.
UMS said the appointment is expected to strengthen collaboration between FST and Sabah Electricity in areas such as academic programme development, research opportunities, innovation and initiatives related to renewable energy and sustainable energy technology.
